Tomlinson Makes Strong NASCAR Canada Series Debut at Calabogie with TWOth

Calabogie, ON – July 29, 2025 — This past weekend marked an exciting new chapter for TWOth Autosport as the team made its debut in the NASCAR Canada Series during the inaugural NASCAR Canada 150 presented by NAPA and Mack MacKenzie at Calabogie Motorsports Park. The event also featured the series debut of driver Ron Tomlinson, piloting the No. 48 Tomlinson Chevrolet.

Coming from a rich background in sports car racing, TWOth Autosport has long been a staple in Canadian and North American motorsport paddocks, having competed in everything from Spec Miata to IMSA prototypes. This foray into stock car racing represents a bold and exciting expansion for the Ottawa-based team.

For Tomlinson, who is currently competing full-time in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, the weekend was a homecoming of sorts. Racing at his home track in front of local fans, he quickly adapted to the demands of the heavier, more aggressive stock car machinery.

After qualifying 15th on the grid, Tomlinson settled into a strong rhythm, battling with seasoned series veterans and making smart moves in traffic. The race saw its share of chaos, but Tomlinson kept his composure through multiple caution periods and rising pressure. Late in the race, he was hit with an unexpected challenge, a broken shift knob that left the car stuck in gear for several laps. Despite this, he muscled the No. 48 car across the line in a hard-fought 12th-place finish.

Team Principal Travis Hill noted, “We’ve always believed in pushing boundaries and stepping into new challenges. NASCAR Canada was an entirely new world for us, but I’m proud of how the team prepared and executed. Ron drove like a pro, and to finish just outside the top 10 in our debut? That’s something to be proud of.”

While this NASCAR Canada venture was a one-off for now, the success of the weekend has opened the door for future opportunities. For the time being, TWOth Autosport shifts its focus back to its roots in sports car competition — but you never know what the future could hold.
